Hibriten High School  is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, approximately 70 miles north of Charlotte, and 30 miles south of Appalachian State University.  District lines extend northward to Watauga County, northeast to Wilkes County, eastward to Alexander County, and to downtown Lenoir.  It is one of three traditional high schools located in Caldwell County. 

Hibriten High School is a comprehensive, four-year high school accredited by the NC Department of Public Instruction and the Southern Colleges and Schools.  The school is currently serving approximately 1,070 students in grades 9-12 on a block schedule (4x4) in a dual semester system.  Students have four ninety-minute periods daily and are eligible to earn eight credits per academic year.

 Graduation Requirements

All students must choose and follow the specific course requirements of one chosen NC Course of Study – Career Preparatory, College Technical Preparatory, College/University  Preparatory, or Occupational Preparatory if entering high school before the 2008 school year.  Students entering high school during the 2009-2010 school year will follow the Future Core – Ready Course of Study, or the Occupational Preparatory Course of Study.
