Ms. Walker's Class Enjoys Tie-Dying

Ms. Walker's second period Physical Science class made tie-dye t-shirts to learn about chemical bonding. Students had "Tie-Dye Friday" and all wore tie-dye shirts. 

HHS Chess Team 2009 Places Second in 2AA Regional Tournament

Hibriten HS Chess team earned 2nd place team award in the 2AA class of the 2009 NC Western Regional Chess Championship held this past Saturday at Newton-Conover HS.  Not only did the team place 2nd in the 2AA class but had the 3rd best score overall and every team member was presented an award as well.  Pictured are Mr. John Thomas (co-sponsor), Kyle, Douglas, Josh, Dylan, Rebecca, and Will.  Not pictured is team co-sponsor Mr. Ron Taliana.  The team's next competition is the East Tennessee Scholastic Open to held on the campus of Milligan College in Johnson City, TN on March 28.
